What
exactly are the video lessons like and what
will I learn?
Great question!
Below are is a short list of things you’ll
learn in each video lesson. Only a few lesson topics
are listed so this page won’t go on forever!
But this will give you a good idea. There are many more
lessons and even more are added each month.
How
fast does my Internet connection and computer have
to be?
We recommend you have a cable or DSL Internet
connection. While you can see the video lessons
on a dial-up connection, it will take a long time
to see or download them. Your computer will have
have at least 128 megabytes of RAM and a video card that
is less than five years old. The faster
your Internet
connection & PC are, the faster you will be able
to see and download your lessons.
Is
it really true that anyone can learn to play
guitar 100% of the time. That sounds hard to
believe.
Yes, without a
doubt. Anyone who really wants to learn to play
guitar can if they really want to, with the right
lessons. There are definitely varying levels of
talent people are born with. Honestly, that’s
simply the truth. Not all of us can be Eddie Van
Halen, Jimi Hendrix, Segovia, or a musical prodigy
like Mozart, but anyone who really does want to
learn play guitar can, and play well. I’m
living proof. I was not especially “gifted”.
So, if I can, you sure can!
Will
I be able to learn my favorite songs fast?
Absolutely! That’s
one of the most fun things you can and should do.
Now I’m going to be honest with you. Realistically,
you do have to learn a few simple chords and how
to tune a guitar. That’s just part of learning.
But I will let you in a little secret.
If you can tune
a guitar that IS the key to learning your favorite
songs fast. You will be playing songs you like
within the first few days. That I guarantee, but
you do have to have at least a few basic steps
down and pick relatively simple songs at first.
Unless you're a prodigy, you probably won't be able
to play something really
super advanced like Van Halens "Eruption" in
a day or two. But there are literally thousands
of songs you can learn that quickly.
How
long are the videos?
The average running
time is 3 – 8 minutes, and there is a very
good reason for that too, that you’ll like.
Each lesson has tons of information but they were
designed to be short.
This is why. Studies
show that the average person learns the most in
the first 7 – 10 minutes of any type of class.
So, the lessons are designed to give you the most
information in the least amount of time, so you
can get the best and fastest results.
Can
I really learn as much from online lessons
as I would from a private teacher?
You certainly can. It’s
all in how the lessons are presented to you. Since
this lesson series is filmed from your point of
view (with three cameras), just like you will be
looking at a guitar, in many ways it’s actually
better.
Remember, you can always
rewind and pause each lesson. There
are also plenty of follow-up lessons you'll learn
from and with each lesson on paper if you want
to. And you are always welcome and encouraged to
attend both of my 2-Hour long student teacher Q&A
calls. Any question you have will be answered.
I’m
afraid it’s going to hurt my hands pretty
bad. How can I learn to play without it really
hurting?
That’s a really
good question a lot of people ask. There are two
reasons why not.
-
When you’re taught how
to hold your hands, how much pressure to press
the strings with, and how to sit with a guitar
the right way, it won’t hurt.
-
Playing guitar is like weight
lifting. You don’t start with 300 lb.
and work out for an hour. Guitar is the same.
You start with simple things and play 5, 10,
or 15 minutes and build up to an hour in a
week or two. Then (like weight lifting) you
don’t get hurt.
Will
I be able to learn any other style besides
Rock?
Yes. The lessons all apply
to any style of music you want to learn. You see,
chords and scales themselves don’t fall under
any particular style of music. They’re a
roadmap that applies to all music. There are subtle
differences in they way they're actually played
in different styles of music.
Ultimately, all styles
of western music use the same 12 tone (note) system
as a foundation. So, it doesn’t matter if
you love Rock, Jazz, Country, Acoustic Finger style,
Folk, Classical, Blues or Heavy Metal. It all works
the same way and the lessons actually show you
how get any result you want.
I’m
an adult. Is it too late for me to start learning
to play guitar and are the lessons only for young
people?
No, not at all. Anyone
can start learning to play guitar when ever they
want. It doesn’t matter if you’re eight
or eighty. You’re never too old and the lessons
are for everyone.
Can
I cancel my subscription if I don’t feel
the lessons are working the way I want them to?
Sure you can. Honestly,
I don’t think you’ll feel that way
when you get started. Any time you want to cancel
you can and your subscription will terminate at
the end of the month. It’s that simple and
easy. You get a 10-Day free test drive of the
site. You’ll know if the lessons will work
for you a long time before you ever get to that
point, and you get to keep the free bonuses. There’s
no risk at all.
I
want to learn to play but I’m under 18
and don’t have a credit or debit card. What
can I do?
The best thing you can
do is just be honest and politely ask your parents
to check out the site. You can also sign up for
my free “Complete Guitar” newsletter
that’s always full of cool playing tips.
That way you can still get some playing guidance
and learn a few things too.
How
do I start my 10-Day Free trial?
